Players in grades 5-8 can choose to participate in the SELECT program which is part of the MYL's tryout-based Select League playing games on Friday nights and Saturdays mornings.  Players who choose to try out for a SELECT Team must also play on a CLASSIC team. 

Select players are coached by professional coaches and play in a higher-level league which culminates in playoffs and the opportunity to be selected to the Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse All-Star Team!

Commitment and Expectations:

The SELECT program is for 5-8th graders who want to play MORE lacrosse at a higher level of competition.  It will require a try out in early spring and a willingness to commit to 1.5-2 more hours of practice a week and games on Friday nights or Saturdays.  These teams are coached by experienced, professional coaches and the level of play and competition is higher than the CLASSIC program. There will be an opportunity to participate in playoffs at the end of the season and be selected for the All-Star Team over the summer.

Select Players need to commit to all three of the following:

• Willingness to make lacrosse a priority sport in the spring.

• Willingness to play both CLASSIC and SELECT teams.

• Willingness to make attendance at both practice and games a priority. Communication with coaches regarding absences is a must!

Interested families should register for the SELECT Program during the registration period this Winter.  Do not submit payment until your player has been rostered on a team.
